Governor Schweitzer Handed Out Two Innovation Awards To Local Businesses

Governor Brian Schweitzer awarded nine Montana businesses with innovation earlier this week, two of which were from Gallatin County.

The nine businesses were recognized for their innovative business practices and contributions to Montana's economy. The two local award winners were Bridger Photonics and Simms Fishing Products of Bozeman.

Bridger Photonics, makers of laser based measurement systems, was recognized by Inc magazine as the fastest growing privately held engineering company in the U.S. Simms, the country's only fishing wader maker, is preparing to move to their new bigger Bozeman location this fall.

Other companies honored were from Billings, Havre, Missoula, Columbia Falls, Harlowton and Chester.
