I would like to think that with the beautiful mountains, the endless skies, and with the nickname "the last best place" Montana would be considered a pretty happy place.

A recent study came out with information regarding the "Happiest States in America" and where Montana stands amongst the other states.

WalletHub used the following different tools to determine which states were the happiest and then ranked them accordingly.

  • Emotional & Physical Well-Being
  • Work Environment
  • Community & Environment

Just think for a minute how important those three things are to you and if they have an effect on your overall happiness.

So where does Montana rank when it comes to happiness? Check out the image below to see if we are in the top, the bottom, or the middle.

I was hoping that we ranked a little higher than the poll states, but there is always room for improvement. With our current housing crisis and need for employees, it only makes sense that we are a little below the middle line.

Regardless of the poll, I think most of the people I run into in Montana, seem pretty darn happy. As long as we don't have another 9 months of winter, I think we will see more happy Montanans next year.

If you want to read the full article and see the break down of the mythology behind the study you can check out the link below. For the time being, get that vitamin D and pray for a winter shorter than 9 months.
