Hours from now, the first ever Spruce Moose Festival will begin! Do you already have tickets? Do you need a reason to go? Read on to know how best to join in with the other thousand festival goers ready to have a great Labor Day weekend up at Big Sky Mountain!

FRIDAY

The festival begins tonight at 9pm with a CD release party at Whiskey Jacks for the ever popular band, The Clintons. They've been a huge hit in the Gallatin Valley over the past 8 years and they keep getting better and better. After seeing The Clintons at this year's first Music on Main with a stellar show and massive crowd, I can't wait to watch these guys rock tonight!

SATURDAY

The fun doesn't stop during the day Saturday either. Big Sky's Mountain Fest will be happening Saturday.  The Mountain Fest will feature a 5k race, sidewalk sales, cardboard boat racing, and music at the plaza.

The Spruce Moose Stage, located between the chairlifts on Big Sky Mountain, begins its performances at 6pm and continues to 11pm. The opening bands include a wonderfully fun ska band, Do it Kappa, followed by The Clintons and headlined by Big Head Todd and The Monsters. Be sure to bring your dancing shoes!

SUNDAY

On Sunday, the music begins at 5:30 as Cure for the Common takes the stage. This Bozeman band just finished touring Washington and Western Montana just in time to take the stage at Spruce Moose. Featuring keyboards, guitars, and trumpets, Cure for the Common tends to get the crowd moving like no other. They will be followed by Pinky and the Floyd, and then the headliners, John Butler Trio, take the stage.

We hope to see you up there at least one of the nights if not all three. If I had to choose one day only... I don't think I could choose, I just hope Tuesday never comes!

Spruce Moose: Saturday the 2nd and Sunday the 3rd of September, at the Big Sky Base Area, tickets start at $40 and are $50 at the gate, purchase at www.chamberlinproductions.com, Tarantino’s Pizzeria, or Cactus Records.
