A "friendly rivalry" has fed hundreds of thousands of Montanans for over two decades. What started 25 years ago, continues today and is the biggest food drive in the state.  Of course, we are talking about "Can The Griz".

The food drive between Bozeman and Missoula and MSU and UM has grown over the years and while the rivalry is real, in the end, both communities hope to help as many Montanans as possible.

Each year, local businesses, civic groups, and individuals give of themselves, whether through a donation or volunteering for the cause. I like to say it's the perfect way to kick off the holiday season because you get to see the best in people.

Over the last few years, the need for food has grown across the state and this year is no different. Our friends over at HRDC tell me that more and more families are asking for help, which means that for those who can, a donation is vital.

Remember, you can still donate and have until this Saturday during the game to get those donations in.

Where can you donate to Can The Griz?

With several locations around Bozeman and Gallatin County, you won't have to look too far to find a drop-off spot, however, you can always check out the Can The Griz site to see all the different locations accepting donations.

Several drop-off locations are offering different deals for those who donate.

In the 25-year history of the food drive, Bozeman has come out on the winning end most of the time, however, last year Missoula pulled out a victory out of nowhere. While it's all for a good cause and we want to help as many Montanans as possible, bragging rights are still a thing and we hope to regain our rightful position on top.

I've been told that Bozeman has never lost two years in a row, so there's a lot on the line here.  Whether you can donate a can or two, a buck or two, or a pallet or two, let's all come together and make sure that we Can The Griz and Go Cats!
