First, there is the weather. For those who aren't use to weather that can change 3 times in one day, Montana might not be place for you. Next up, the isolation. Depending on where you live, you might feel like there is no one around. Finally, there is the crime.

As the state grows, crime increases and that has a lot of locals up in arms. What was once a place where folks knew each other and neighbors helped out has turned into a something different in many parts of the state, and according to the FBI, you might be surprised by the numbers.
What Montana cities are the most dangerous?
One of the most interesting factors isn't who made the list, but who didn't. Let's take a look at the towns on the list.
According to Compare The Market, the following are the most dangerous cities in Montana based on Crimes Against Persons, Crimes Against Property, and Crimes Against Society.
- Billings
- Missoula
- Great Falls
- Bozeman
- Helena
- Kalispell
Other towns making the list included Belgrade, Livingston, Hamilton, Whitefish, and others. What was most interesting was which town or city didn't make the list.
For many Montanans, Butte is often the butt of the joke due to many factors. The folks of Butte are known as a rough and tough people, however, according to the numbers, Butte didn't make the list as one of the most dangerous cities in Montana.
