Not to mention that we have some of the best lakes in the country to explore, towns to check out, and all kinds of historical sights, so if you were thinking about planning a road trip, Montana would be the place to do it, right?
Well, maybe not.
According to the folks over at WalletHub, Montana didn't make the Top 10 States for Summer Road Trips, in fact, it didn't make the Top 25 either. So, where did Montana land? Are you sitting down? We landed in the 42nd spot. That's right, there are only 8 states that are worse than we are when it comes to summer road trips.
How can this be? I mean, what factors going into this? Well, it seems that there are a few and they are listed below:
- Average Gas Prices
- Average Cost of Car Repairs
- Lowest Price of 3-Star Hotel Room
- Lowest Price of Camping
- Vacation Rentals
- Cost of Living
Alright, so now it's starting to make sense. I mean, gas is expensive and hotel costs??? Outrageous this time of year, oh and if you're planning on renting a car, be prepared to pay double or triple would you would in most places.

But still...42nd? Really? I feel like that's a little low.
