New Business In Bozeman Brings Sauna And Cold Plunge Club
Just last week I decided to swing by Wild Crumb for a treat yourself kind of breakfast. While driving over, something new caught my eye just down the street. It immediately made me do a double-take. The building looked like stacked shipping containers with firewood piled outside.

My first thought was that it might be some kind of modern condo project. Turns out I was completely wrong. The place is called PORTAL° and it is bringing a different kind of wellness experience to town. The concept revolves around alternating between sauna heat and cold plunge therapy. Part of their mission is “reshaping how we relate to recreation through connection.”
The new Bozeman location sits on the North side of town at 660 N Ida Ave. It includes two traditional saunas, 5 individual cold plunge tubs, a indoor club house, changing rooms, and more. Seems like a pretty good location for those maybe leaving the Bridgers.

Beyond the heat and cold therapy, the space was designed to feel like a place to hang out. There is an outdoor courtyard for plunges, a rooftop deck, lounge areas, and changing rooms with rinse stations. If you go over there, it will certainly catch your eye.
We are not the only place to have a PORTAL° though. They first launched in Boulder, then Denver and Minneapolis. The Bozeman location is the company’s first club in Montana.

The official opening date is March 16, although members have already started using the facility. This seems to be a trending thing now because just a while ago, Umvelt, a bathhouse, opened up and now we have another way to relax in town.
