Gibson Reveals Stunning Montana-Made Guitar to Celebrate Anniversary

The name Gibson is synonymous with quality. The company, which has been around since the turn of the century, has earned a reputation for building some of the finest guitars money can buy. The company first opened it's factory in Bozeman in 1988, and since then, the majority of Gibson's acoustic guitars have been hand-crafted in Montana. Bozeman's dry climate is perfect for building acoustic guitars.

In 2022, Gibson opened its new Acoustic Custom shop in Bozeman, which doubled the size of the facility that was built in 1988. To honor the company's 130 anniversary, Gibson has revealed the Gibson Custom J-45 Orville Artisan 130th Anniversary Limited Edition.

Only 30 of the guitars were made, and they were all hand-crafted in Bozeman. The guitar mixes inlay designs from early Orville Gibson-crafted harp guitars with the iconic J-45 makes for a unique piece of Gibson history. Obviously, such a rare instrument comes with a hefty price tag. If you want one, you'll need to fork over $11,999.

We take great pride in our longstanding tradition of artistry, which has existed since Orville Gibson made his very first instrument. To properly honor the man who started it all in 1894, we’re bringing it back to Gibson’s origins with a fantastically built acoustic instrument to celebrate 130 years of making some of the most iconic guitars in the world. Introducing the Gibson Custom J-45 Orville Artisan 130th Anniversary Limited Edition.
