Here’s Your Last Chance To Visit This Famous Montana Landmark

If one thing is certain in life, it's change. Like it or not, change is inevitable. In some ways, it can be a good thing. With so many new people moving to Montana, the amount of changes witnessed by longtime residents is frustrating. Now, a beloved Montana institution that has been around for nearly 140 years will soon be gone forever.

Some places in Montana have been around for a really long time, and are considered local landmarks. Over the years, many of those places have disappeared. Sadly, important pieces of the state's history are being sold off one building at a time.

ICONIC MONTANA INSTITUTION CLOSING FOREVER

If you've ever visited Montana's state capital, Helena, you've most likely seen the Montana Club. It has been around longer than Montana was officially declared a state. Here's a brief history from the Montana Club website.

Founded in 1885 in Helena, Montana Territory by fifty male attorneys, bankers, mining, livestock and timber magnates, politicians, transportation titans, wholesalers and self-described capitalists, the Montana Club was the longest-continuously open private club between Minneapolis and Seattle until it reorganized as a co-operative association and opened to the public in June 2018 for à la carte dining, private dining, weddings, celebrations and business meetings.

There is more than one Montana Club in the state, and not all of them are closing, according to 94.9 KYSS FM in Missoula. The Helena Montana Club is the only one slated to close.

If you want to visit the Montana Club before it closes for good, the public is invited to a farewell event on Friday, March 29. You can celebrate the legacy of the Montana Club in Helena.
