Jerry Cantrell + Mike McCready Join 2013 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Performance Lineup
Seattle will be well represented whenever Heart enters the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next month. It was previously revealed that Soundgarden's Chris Cornell would induct the classic rock band, and now it has been announced that fellow Seattle music vets Jerry Cantrell from Alice in Chains and guitarist Mike McCready from Pearl Jam will perform with Heart at the induction ceremony.
The two rockers are among several new additions to the star-studded event's talent lineup. Usher has been added to perform in honor of Quincy Jones. Spike Lee and Harry Belafonte will be part of the presentation to rap icons Public Enemy. Lou Adler's induction will feature a presentation from Cheech & Chong and a performance from Carole King. Plus, Jackson Browne and John Fogerty will play alongside songwriting legend Randy Newman.
They join what was already turning into a stellar evening that included the Foo Fighters' Taylor Hawkins and Dave Grohl inducting Rush, John Mayer and Gary Clark Jr. performing on behalf of blues legend Albert Lee, Don Henley inducting Newman and Christina Aguilera and Jennifer Hudson performing in honor of the late Donna Summer.
The 2013 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will honor Heart, Newman, Summer, Public Enemy and Rush, along with lifetime achievement winners Jones and Adler. The event will take place April 18 at Los Angeles Nokia Theatre in the L.A. Live complex. A highlight show from the induction ceremony will air May 18 at 9PM ET/PT on HBO.
