The next time you are out and about, just enjoying the sunshine, whistling your favorite tune, and you look down and see a penny, you may want to grab it.

The financial struggle here in Bozeman is apparent, so a little luck might be just what you need. You could be sitting on thousands of dollars and not even know it. Especially with all our hiking and outdoor activities, I think coming across one of these rare coins is not too far-fetched.

Bored one night, I was on TikTok watching this guy who metal detects. I know, I'm a nerd, but it's actually really interesting! After watching a few videos my "for you page" (FYP) suddenly had this guy on it who talks about rare coins. I geeked out hard.

It wasn't much after watching @the_coin_guy, that I had my kid digging through the ol' change jar. It was actually a little bonding activity and we really enjoyed it; I don't recommend telling your kid the value, just in case you find one!

It's not just pennies that can hold some crazy values. Check out this dime that is worth way more than 10 cents.

Yes, some old coins do hold a higher value, but some, as recent as the year 2000, also could have a significant value as well.

The next time you leave a penny in the penny cup at the checkout or give the little ones all the change from your purse so they can get some candy, you may want to double-check those coins first. Maybe you will find a coin worth so much you could purchase half a house here in Bozeman.

Vintage Photos Of Montana

It's hard to imagine what Yellowstone National Park would look like in black and white. We are so used to seeing the colors that make it one of America's favorite travel destinations. Jezel Doughert's grandmother passed away and like many of us do, she spent hours going through years and years of history, from old yearbooks to news clippings, to pictures. Jezel sent me a piece of history that, if not for her, I wouldn't be able to share with you.

This Family Friendly "Montana Town" Is Frozen In Time

One of the coolest places to check out in Montana is the "Old Montana" town of Nevada City. Located just on the other side of Virginia City, Nevada City is the perfect example of what life was like back during the gold rush in the 1800s.

With several different buildings to tour and friendly folks to guide you through your visit, as well as tell you the stories of the times, Nevada City is not only educational but fun for the whole family.
