Residents Say These Montana Towns Have the Worst Drivers
If you've ever white-knuckled your steering wheel while driving, you're not alone. Every state has towns with bad traffic and questionable driving, and Montana is no exception.
Residents across Montana had plenty of opinions when asked which town has the worst drivers, but one city was mentioned more than any other: Bozeman. Many locals say Bozeman’s rapid growth has completely changed the driving experience.
Increased traffic, non-stop construction, crowded intersections, and a surge of new residents and visitors have created what some drivers describe as daily chaos on the roads.

While Bozeman received the most criticism, it wasn’t the only Montana town that locals called out. Missoula is another town in Big Sky Country that has a reputation for bad drivers. The worst areas are downtown and near the University of Montana.
Here's what Brandon said about Missoula drivers.
Missoula. Between drivers who have no idea what to do with the weird intersections, or the IQ of Griz fans, I have almost been hit so many times there.
Billings has the largest population in the state, and it also has its fair share of bad drivers, according to residents.
Other Montana towns that residents mentioned included Kalispell, Great Falls, Belgrade, Helena, Anaconda, and Livingston. Some locals blamed all of the new residents in the state, while others pointed to tourism, distracted driving, or drivers unfamiliar with local roads as reasons traffic feels worse than ever before.
The best advice I can give is to practice defensive driving, stay alert, and avoid distractions.
