Montana’s Definitely Truck Country, So Which Ones Make The Top 5?

Here in Montana, we love our trucks. In fact, if you spend any time on our interstates, streets, highways, and backroads you will see a whole lot of trucks. Big trucks, little trucks, old trucks, new trucks, it doesn't matter, we've got it covered here in Big Sky Country.

Of course, it makes sense when you consider how much farming and ranching we do here and when you're doing that type of work, you need something that is going to get the goods from point A to point B.

We discovered a few months back that the best-selling new vehicle and the best-selling used vehicle were the same here in Montana, and it just happened to be a truck. The Ford F-150 is not only the best-selling truck in the United States, but it's also the best-selling vehicle here in Montana.

So, is Ford the only truck that makes the list?  Nope.

According to the website gobankingrates.com, taking a look at the Top 5 selling vehicles in Montana, 4 out 5 are trucks. As mentioned, coming in 1st is the Ford F-Series, but what about 2 thru 5?

If you've spent any time watching the popular series "Yellowstone", then you know that the Dutton family is partial to Dodge trucks.  It seems they're not the only ones here in Montana that are Ram Fans. The Ram 1500/2500/3500 comes in 2nd place. Of course one of Ram's claims to fame is the Cummings Diesel engine and here in Montana, we love our diesel trucks, so it makes perfect sense why Ram is so popular.

What about 3rd place? Well, that honor goes to the Chevrolet Silverado. Not only is the Chevy Silverado one of the most popular vehicles in Montana, but it's also featured in several country songs as well. You certainly can't talk about trucks and not mention the legendary Silverado.

Coming in 4th place is also a General Motors product. It's the GMC Sierra. Personally, I like the looks of this truck a whole lot. There is something both tough and beautiful about that front end, plus, GMC is always on the cutting edge when it comes to new truck innovations and that new tailgate system they introduced a couple of years back is pretty cool.

Finally, rounding out the Top 5 Best Selling Cars in Montana is the Toyota Rav 4.  I will be honest, I was a little surprised by this. Not that Toyota made the list, heck, I own a Toyota and I'm a big fan, but I thought for sure if a Toyota was going to make the list, it would be the Tacoma. However, that doesn't seem to be the case.
