My Dad’s Must Have Classic Holiday Cocktail List & Recipes [VIDEO]
My dad has never messed around when it comes to his classic cocktails and neither should you. So, we've compiled your holiday party drink menu right here. Merry Christmas from The Wolfe's.
I'll preface all of this by saying Dad doesn't necessarily drink all of these, but they are classic enough that he'd like to see them show up at more social gatherings. Vodka will do the trick every time but why not wow 'em with something cooler than that?
(I'll ALSO preface this by saying my father is the kind of guy who drinks Bombay. Not Bombay Sapphire. Bombay gin. They are NOT the same. If you don't believe me, perhaps you'd like to be sitting in a hotel bar in Phoenix with him while a 23 year old waitress brings him the wrong one....twice.) So here goes...
HARVEY WALLBANGER
- 1.25 oz Vodka
- 3 oz Orange juice
- .5 oz Galliano L’Autentico
Garnish: Orange slice Glass: Tall - Add the vodka and the orange juice to a tall glass filled with ice. Stir, and float the Galliano on top. Garnish with an orange slice.
MAI TAI
- 1 oz light rum
- 1 oz dark rum
- 1/2 oz lime juice
- 1/2 oz orange curacao
- 1/2 oz orgeat syrup
- Maraschino cherry for garnish
Pour all the ingredients except the dark rum into a shaker with ice cubes. Shake well. Strain into an old-fashioned glass half filled with ice. Top with the dark rum. Garnish with the cherry and an umbrella. Everybody loves umbrellas.
OLD FASHIONED
- 2 oz blended whiskey
- 1 sugar cube
- 1 dash bitters
- 1 slice lemon
- 1 cherry

If you must drink the mornings during the holidays, Dad understands that making your own "Bloody Mary Bar" is all the rage....Here's what you'll need for that too.
