New Phone Scams Circulating the Gallatin Valley

The Bozeman Police Department has reported several telephone scams that are circulating in the Gallatin Valley. In addition to the Bozeman Police issuing a Scam Alert on Facebook, the Gallatin County Sheriffs Office stated on Facebook that they have received numerous calls regarding a voice recording stating the person's Social Security Number has been suspended.

According to the Bozeman Police Facebook page and the Gallatin Country Sheriffs Office, these scams are being reported in the area:

• Social Security Number suspended
• Taking action against you
• Legal proceedings
• Amazon
• Student loan department
• Mortgage application being flagged

Remember to never give out personal information to any unknown entity and if you  become victim of these phone scams you are advised by the Bozeman Police Department to contact IdentityTheft.gov.
