Whether you love or hate this actor, you have to admit that it's cool to have such a high-profile celebrity visit our state.

In January 2022, it was announced that Nicolas Cage was filming not one, but two movies in Montana. Cage is an Academy Award-winning actor who has appeared in everything from blockbuster films to small independent movies. He's a versatile actor, and many love his work.

One of these recent, Montana-shot films, Butcher's Crossing, debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival and earned high praise. Now, we have news on the other movie Cage shot in Montana.

The Old Way stars Cage as a retired gunslinger who must face his past when the son of a man he gunned down shows up in town. Check out the trailer below.

You can tell by the scenery that the film was shot in Montana—the mountains are a dead giveaway. Why don't more movie productions shoot in Montana? If you ask me, they're missing out on a wide array of absolutely enchanting scenery. Based on the trailer, it looks like this movie proves that to be true.

I, for one, am excited to see this film when it comes out in theaters. I love Nicolas Cage and all the work he has done. Con Air, The Rock, and National Treasure are some of my favorite films of his. Nicolas Cage is a fantastic actor, and a grizzled old gunslinger seems like the perfect role for him.

The Old Way is set to premiere in theaters and video on demand on Friday, January 6th, 2023. Is it too much to ask for them to have a premiere of either of these films at a theater here in Montana?

It would certainly be a fun treat for locals. Check out the film in January and let me know what you think.
