Noel Gallagher fans have a pertinent question for the former Oasis guitarist: Why did he appear on U.K. TV with a band that included a woman seemingly playing scissors?

An attached clip below finds her standing near the back of the stage, opening and closing the tool in time to the music as Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds perform “She Taught Me How to Fly” on Later… With Jools Holland. Viewers accused him of "shear" cheekiness, or at least "tearible" taste.

“Surely, that’s just to wind up his brother,” said tweeter Dan Cummings, referring to the cutting rivalry between Noel and Liam Gallagher. “My beloved Noel is turning into everyone he’s mercilessly and brilliantly ripped the piss out of since ’94,” said another commenter, Lee Nicholas.

Was Gallagher just cutting up? He hasn't yet explained the snippy incident, which perhaps should have landed on the cutting room floor.

“She Taught Me How to Fly” appears on his upcoming album Who Built the Moon? Due on Nov. 24, the album features guest appearances from Paul Weller and Johnny Marr. Gallagher previously released the lead track "Holy Mountain," and announced a U.K. tour for April and May of next year.
