It was an interesting Grammy Awards this year. The 53rd annual Grammy Awards last night showcased many great live performances as always but dealt many surprises too.

Eminem was expected to take home more than the two Grammy awards he won (he was up for 10). Everyone thought that Eminem's fight back from addiction, chronicled in his new album Addiction, would win over the Grammy panel. Hey it won over fans, selling more than 4 million (which are remarkable sales numbers nowadays).

Eminem did win Best Rap Album but not Album of the Year, that honor went to huge underdogs Arcade Fire. Even the Canadian indie rockers themselves were surprised by the win for their album, The Suburbs. Singer Win Butler genuinely looked shocked as he said, "what the hell" before beginning his thank you's. Lady Antebellum was this year's big winner, taking home 5 golden grammys, including Song of the Year.

Sorry to be the spoiler for those of you who DVR'd the event. I'm sure if that was the case you didn't read this anyway but if you did rubberneck this post then go back and watch last night's Grammys for the performances. Two thumbs up there!
