SXSW 2012 = South By Southwest = Awesome March In Austin

Talk about March Madness. It's so much more than "music, film and interactive"....I'm not even sure where to start to describe what SXSW is, exactly. This year it runs from March 9th -18th, broken into three separate time periods for each discipline.

BUT.....what I love most about SXSW is that in this day and age, all the artistic and interactive disciplines sort of blend together. I always attend the MUSIC week, but I think I'd enjoy the TECH or FILM focused week just as much.

The list of bands and artists who are playing SXSW 2012 can be found HERE. Kinda blows your mind. The number of well known artists AND the number of up-and-coming bands from around the world make South By Southwest a zoo. But a fun zoo.

What's my best tip for SXSW? YOU MUST BE A PLANNER. Every morning you'll wake up with a hangover unless you're a friend of Bill W. Take your morning coffee and your SXSW Bible (the pocket schedule) very seriously. You need a plan of attack for each day. You don't have to follow that plan, but have one. There's just too much to see and do. And hear. And drink. And eat. (You get the picture.)
