Our weekly check-in with this active area shows another eight small earthquakes in the last 24 hours. DOZENS of earthquakes have rattled central Idaho in recent weeks and although not rare, the number of quakes is far more than normal.
None of the earthquakes are terribly large, oh wait...There's one at magnitude 5.3. Several in the 2, 3, and 4 magnitude range but there's A TON OF THEM all tightly centered just east of Soda Springs, Idaho.
We know that we're living on a ginormous caldera (Yellowstone Park) that theoretically could blow at any time. Want to see the earthquake data in real time?
