A lockdown at Billings West High School yesterday caused concern for many parents, but was ultimately found to be a false alarm.

A Missoula County Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatch to an in-progress intimidation call.

This announcement comes on the heels of shootings in Odessa and Midland, Texas and a shooting that occurred inside a Walmart store in El Paso.

This is the second shelter in place for Belgrade High in the past two days. Belgrade High School was placed in a shelter in place protocol around noon on Wednesday.

Bozeman High School students left their classes on Friday morning around 10:15 a.m. to show their disappointment with current gun control laws.

Eyewitness reports say someone with a gun near Victor School triggered a lock down of that facility.

Back to the wild west ways? House Bill 271 has been cleared and is now left to Governor Brian Schweitzer to decide whether it will be signed into law or vetoed.
