First things first, why does anyone in the Government need access to our Banking records?  Second, what are they hoping to accomplish with this, other than the obvious.  The obvious being more and more people not trusting the Government.

The average tax refund this year will be about $3000, and that might make for a really nice shopping spree. But the most popular choice for using that wad of cash is the one you probably least expect.

The Internal Revenue Service released a warning on Monday about what they are calling a "Tax Transcript" scam in which they warned the public about a surge of fraudulent emails impersonating the IRS.

Bad News...the IRS plans on checking Facebook and Twitter this year to see if you're cheating on your taxes. Fortunately, they can't Facebook stalk us all. It'll just be people who've been flagged for an audit or potential audit:

An identity theft scam has been attempted in the Bozeman area.  This scam involves a fraudster sending out a modified IRS Form using IRS letterhead and a very "official looking" form.
