While not endangered species, these are incredibly rare in Montana and the US. Unfortunately, someone has poached one of these magnificent animals in our state.

The moose was shot sometime between Nov. 15 and 22 in Camp Creek, east of Melrose.

Anyone who may have information on this incident are being asked to call Montana’s toll-free hotline for reporting poaching, 1-800-TIP-MONT (847-6668).

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks game wardens are searching for information regarding a recent poaching incident on private land.

The reward offered for information leading to the conviction of those involved in the poaching of a bull moose south of Bozeman has increased.

Officials from Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks are currently investigating poaching in the Waterloo area just south of Whitehall.

Three moose were shot and killed while feeding in a group of aspens in the Antelope Basin area near West Yellowstone earlier this week. Game Warden Jim Smolcynski referred to the case as "poaching at its worst". Any information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of those involved are eligible for a reward:
