On Saturday, February 16, Bozeman resident, Wylie Picotte was caught in an avalanche during a backcountry ski trip on Wyoming's Teton Pass.

A video just released by the Park County Sheriff's Office shows the daring rescue of two climbers stranded on a ledge at 11,200 feet in the Absarokee Mountains.

Gallatin County Sheriff Brian Gootkin applauds the individuals in the hunting party for being prepared for this unfortunate situation.

The group of nine riders was located nine miles up the Sage Creek Trail.

Initial investigation at the scene indicates he crashed and died as a result of injuries sustained in the ATV crash.
