The Who to Release ‘Quadrophenia’ Boxed Set, Possible Tour to Follow?
The Who‘s ‘Quadrophenia’ is about to get a whole lot bigger.
The double-album rock opera from 1973 will be re-released in November as part of a boxed set compiled by Who guitarist/songwriter Pete Townshend, who says he and singer Roger Daltrey may perform ‘Quadrophenia’ next year on tour.
Townshend says the 2011 revisit of ‘Quadrophenia’ is inspired by “current and continuing interest in the project. The Who performed a concert version of the piece at the Royal Albert Hall in 2010 … and the success of that event led to the prospect of a Who tour in 2012 based on the album.”
‘Quadrophenia: The Director’s Cut’ (to be released by Universal Music Enterprises) will include previously unheard demos, an eight-track sound DVD, photos and much more.
