[WATCH] Viral Video Shows How Tourists are Ruining Yellowstone
If you live in Montana, it's not uncommon to hear stories about tourists doing dumb things in Yellowstone National Park.
It seems like many of the people that visit the park lack any sort of common sense. They constantly have to be reminded to not pet the fluffy cows, among other things.
This leads us to our next question: Do you think tourists are ruining YNP? If you do, you're not alone. The Yellowstone National Park: Invasion of The Idiots Facebook page has been getting quite a bit of attention lately. The page highlights tourists doing stupid things in the park and frequently shares pictures and videos of visitors being caught in the act.
The number of posts showing people doing incredibly stupid things on the page is mind-blowing. We first learned about the page over the summer and have been enjoying hours of entertainment since. Many of the posts on the page poke fun at tourists, or tourons, as many call them. Touron is a term for tourists that are also morons.
Watching tourists do dumb things is certainly entertaining, but it has caused a lot of concern for the longevity of Yellowstone National Park. Climate change is another major concern.
Now, the popular Facebook page is getting some national attention. Vice recently used examples from the page in a YouTube video titled "Tourists are Ruining Yellowstone." Sadly, there are a lot of good points made in the video.
