Bozeman Residents Speak Out: These Roads Are a Nightmare
Bozeman is known for its breathtaking mountain views, vibrant downtown, and proximity to outdoor adventures. However, some roads in the city are in desperate need of improvement.
Personally, Main Street in downtown Bozeman is my least favorite road in town. With cars parked along both sides of the street and no turn lanes, navigating Main can be a real struggle. I usually use Mendenhall or Babcock to avoid congestion.

Construction projects during the warmer months only make matters worse.

Bozeman’s influx of new residents appears to have caught city planners off-guard, and there are many surface streets and roadways that have earned a reputation for causing headaches among drivers.
Bozeman Residents Speak Out: These Roads Are a Nightmare
We asked Bozeman residents to tell us about their least-favorite roads in the Bozeman area and reveal several responses. Here are a few roads that Bozeman locals try to avoid at all costs.
Lea said,
"19th can be treacherous, but my favorite is turning left from Main onto 7th or Durston onto 7th. Both have TWO turning lanes! So, turn into your own lane."
Philip said,
"Oak. Two lanes, one lane, one lane, and two lanes. Boulevard with wacky left turns. Dead end."
Sean said,
"19th starting at college all the way up to Costco. Take the side roads or interstate."
Chelsea sad,
"Mendenhall, Main and Babcock. Too many wrong way drivers, people don't use the crosswalk, bicyclists don't stop at stop signs ANYWHERE! And people swing doors open parked along the curb when traffic is approaching. Not to mention the right lane on Main St. is a parking lane."
It seems that several roads in Bozeman are frustrating to drivers. What's your least-favorite road in town? Send us a message on our radio station app and let us know!
