I've kind of been in a great mood since yesterday. I skied Moonlight Basin, which turned out to be a great call. The conditions were groomers, powder, and POWDER! It also dumped on us the whole time. Now that's what I've been waiting for!

As most everyone can attest to, this season has not been the most bountiful as far as epic powder days at Bridger Bowl and Big Sky. As a connoisseur of the cold white fluffy stuff myself, it being mid January with few to no powder days logged this season, things are beginning to get depressing. Yahoo! did an article about the best skiing destinations in terms of vertical drops in Montana. I'm assuming these are possible the best in the world as well, right? Montana gloating aside, check out the list and possibly add a few destinations to your winter travels plans.

Yup! It's that time of year for Moonlight Basin's "Montana Appreciation Day". Montana residents with a VALID I.D. (Montana Driver's License, valid military or in-state university) will get a $20 lift ticket THIS FRIDAY!

Sadly we weren't able to make it to the mountain this past weekend but this video is getting us excited for when we finally do strap on the board and skis and get on the lift chair.

Ski season is almost in full swing in Southwest Montana and we want to know where you guys are all riding this year? Honestly, we just like to ride everywhere the snow is best, but we did find an amazing video of opening weekend up at Big Sky that we thought we'd share.

Don't you wish the Ski Swap wasn't just a once a year thing? Or maybe that you could always find someone who was also driving up to the mountain? I found a Facebook page today, or i guess they found me, for a group that hopes to make a community out of the Gallatin Valley Skiers and Snowboarders. The page is called Bozeman Ski/Snowboard Society.

The Associate Press reported that 38 year old Big Sky native, Matthew Jamie Pierre, was killed in an avalanche while snowboarding near the Gad Valley in Utah.
