Higher elevations could see up to 2 feet of snow this weekend and travel through passes could be dangerous.

The National Weather Service in Great Falls has issued a Winter Storm Watch for elevations above 6000 feet...which is in effect from Saturday afternoon through late Sunday night.

Timing and main impact: snow will develop over southwest Montana late Saturday and continue through Monday. Travel may become difficult over mountain passes with snow covered and icy roads.

Snow accumulations: 4 to 8 inches of snow are possible over mountain passes...with up to 2 feet of snow possible over the mountains.

Elevations: for elevations above 6000 feet.

Locations affected include: Battle Ridge Pass...Targhee Pass... West Yellowstone...Big Hole Pass...Chief Joseph Pass...Monida Pass...Raynolds Pass.
