The Manhattan Police Department in Manhattan just west of Bozeman is searching for a new full-time police officer. Manhattan is a great place to live and raise a family and is close enough to Bozeman to enjoy all of its amenities, but far enough away to get away from all of the hustle and bustle. Manhattan is one of Montana's great small towns and the surrounding area has earned a reputation for world-class fly fishing, hunting, and skiing.
The Manhattan Police Department has a starting pay of approximately $27.27 per hour plus benefits for probationary officers and up to $36.55 plus benefits for Detective depending on experience. When at full staff, the Manhattan Police Department has five sworn officers. That includes the Chief of Police, one Sergeant, one Detective/Patrol Officer, two Patrol Officers, and a part-time Administrative Assistant.

- Minimum Qualifications
- Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen, minimum age of 18, and must be able to pass an extensive background investigation psychological and physical fitness evaluation. Applicant must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and currently have or be able to obtain a Montana driver’s license.
- Preference will be given to a P.O.S.T. certified officer. Work is performed under the general supervision of a superior officer. Evaluation is based on the performance of assigned duties. Work hours include shift work and weekends.
- Town of Manhattan Employees are eligible for town insurance, vacation pay, sick pay, retirement plan, and cafeteria plan benefits.
