Best Chistmas Albums – Rich’s Top 8
We'll officially flip the calender to December on Thursday, so dust off those Christmas albums (or stop skipping those Christmas tunes on your iPod). What Christmas/Holiday albums get airplay in your house (if any) in December? Here are some of my favorites.
- Christmas with the Rat Pack - No one does the classics like these classics (Frank, Dean and Sammy)
- A Very Special Christmas (Various Artists) - I'm talking about the first Very Special Christmas compilation that came out in 1987. A great mix here from the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Sting, Whitney Houston, and Run D.M.C. (just to name a few).
- The Ultimate Motown Christmas Collection - Holiday soul from the Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, and other Motown legends (It doesn't get any better).
- Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Christmas Eve and Other Stories - I sometimes need a break from the more traditional stuff, and love adding a little heaviness to my Christmas music. Plus, I saw these guys do it live before and it gave me a whole new appreciation.
Other great Christmas albums worth mentioning:
- Dr. Seuss - How The Grinch Stole Christmas
- Johnny Cash - Christmas With Johnny Cash
- Alvin and the Chipmunks - Christmas With the Chipmunks
- Chris Isaak - Christmas
