It's going to be a cold opening day but a hefty winter storm has dumped lots of fresh snow on the Bridgers this week, hopefully making for an excellent first day on the slopes. With two new lifts this season, you'll be able to enjoy even more of what you love at Bridger Bowl.

According to the official press release:

Bridger Bowl Ski Area, 16 miles northeast of Bozeman, MT, will kick off its 59th season this Friday, December 6th and the ski area anticipates being 100% open when the lifts start turning at 9:00 a.m. that morning.
On Saturday, December 7th, the area will hold a Grand Opening ceremony and ribbon-cutting for the new Powder Park and new Alpine triple chairs at 9:30 a.m.  Attendees must have skis or snowboards, as no foot traffic to the base of the new lifts will be permitted.

The two new triple chairlifts replace a center-pole Riblet double chair that had been in service at the area since 1967 and will triple the uphill capacity of the area on the north side of the mountain which features excellent intermediate terrain.

Food Service will be available at the Jim Bridger Base Lodge and the mid-mountain Deer Park Chalet, and the Bridger Bowl Rental/Retail Shop and Snowsports Center will be fully open for equipment rentals and ski and snowboard lessons.
