Several children in Montana are going hungry. According to Montana Food Bank Network, an estimated 1 in 7 Montanans struggle with hunger, and that includes nearly 46,000 children. Food insecurity is also a major concern for many families living in the state.

What is Food Insecurity?

Food insecurity is defined as the inability to access food consistently. For many children in Montana, school lunch is the only consistent meal that they get each day. During the summer when school is out, those children don't get the proper food nutrition that they need.

You can also donate to Montana No Kid Hungry, an organization that collaborates with communities around healthy food solutions for families in Montana.

Mountain Tough in Bozeman recently partnered with the HRDC for an event to support the Healthy KidsPack Program. Hundreds of volunteers showed up to help put together over 8,500 packs for children living in the Gallatin Valley.
