David Bowie’s son has launched an informal book club dedicated to the memory of his father, and he’s invited fans to join by reading one of Bowie’s favorite titles.

In a message posted to social media, Duncan Jones, the writer and director known for films like Moon, Source Code and Warcraft, wrote, “My dad was a beast of a reader. One of his true loves was Peter Ackroyd’s sojourns into the history of Britain & its cities. I’ve been feeling a building sense of duty to go on the same literary marathon in tribute to dad. Time allowing…” He added: “Anyone who wants to join along, we are reading Peter Ackroyd’s Hawksmoor, as an amuse cerveau before we get into the heavy stuff. You have until Feb 1.”

Hawksmoor was published in 1985 and tells the story of a man who uses human sacrifices to help him build churches, crossed with the parallel story of a detective, 200 years later, who investigates a series of murders in the same churches. It appeared in a list of 100 books that Bowie felt were “must reads,” including works by Tom Stoppard, Christopher Hitchens, Martin Amis, Anthony Burgess and cult British adult comic Viz.

A documentary charting the final years of Bowie’s life was broadcast in the U.K. this year and will be aired in the U.S. on Jan. 8, which would have been his 71st birthday. The artist died of cancer in January 2016, two days after the release of his final album Blackstar.
