Activision claims that Bungie is making tweaks throughout Destiny to get it ready for release, but gamers should not any type of major overhaul in the final edition compared to what we saw from its open beta this summer.

According to DualShockers, Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg explained that Destiny's beta was tremendously successful and elaborated on what we should expect going from its beta to its formal release next month. Hirshberg spoke about Destiny's beta and final version during a conference call he had with Activision's investors in regards to the second quarter of the fiscal year. Hirshberg claimed that the beta was tremendously successful, with Bungie reporting over 4.6 million people playing the beta during its week of open testing. Bungie removed the pre-order restriction for the Destiny beta to stress test its servers, and the game did remarkably well.

Based on this success, Hirshberg explained that we shouldn’t expect to see any major changes going into the final version:

But I would describe this as tweaks and not major changes, as we saw the fundamentals of the game to be very strong. And the good news is because we got 4.6 million players into the beta we were able to test the back-end in scale and it performed really well and stably.

We think we’re ready for a great launch with a great partner in Bungie.

Destiny launches on Sept. 9 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
