16 Important Things to Know About 4th of July in Ennis

Ennis, Montana knows how to do the 4th of July right. They always have - and since they've celebrated for 89 years, you don't have to take my word for it. A parade, Americana, picnics, fishing, rodeo, BBQ, fireworks, music, friends, and family. Ennis has it all.

4th of July in Ennis is hosted by the Ennis Chamber of Commerce. In 2025, the celebration is in it's 89th year. We've got all the details you need to know before you go, but here is the most basic schedule:

• Rodeo ~ Thursday July 3rd & Friday July 4th ~ 7:00pm - Click here to purchase rodeo tickets
• Parade ~ Friday, July 4th, 2025 ~ 10:00am
• Ennis Lions Club Picnic at Peter T’s Park - Friday - Immediately following the parade
• Veteran’s Memorial Ceremony at Veteran’s Memorial Park - Friday at 12:00 pm
• Fireworks in Virginia City (pending conditions) - Friday at Dusk

The 2025 Ennis 4th of July theme is "HOMETOWN PROUD" - celebrating local history and honoring local farmers, ranchers, artisans and hometown heroes.

Thursday July 3rd: Music in the Park featuring Madison Tall Boys in Peter T’s Park, starting at 5:30p.

Karen McMullin is the Grand Marshall of the 2025 parade in downtown Ennis.

Tickets to the 4th of July Rodeo: available for purchase day-of at the gate, or purchase in advance at Ennis Pharmacy.

• Event Starts at 7:00pm both nights
• Gates open at 5:30pm
• Adults (12yrs and up) $15.00
• Child (6yrs-11yrs) $10.00
• Child (5yrs and under) FREE

"Ennis Rodeo Inc. is a non-profit group that brings rodeo entertainment and other agricultural events throughout the year. Over the years Ennis Rodeo Inc. has contributed in many ways to the local community by volunteering hours, donating space to local 4-H clubs and providing scholarships. We have rodeo gear available for purchase at the rodeo."

There are limited politics in the parade. Ennis decided that only parade applicants that are actively running for office would be accepted.

Ennis, Montana is surrounded by three mountain ranges: the Madison Range, the Gravelly Range, and the Tobacco Root Mountains

Ennis has had somewhat of a population boom since 2020 - but the official population numbers are: The population was 917 at the 2020 census, up from 838 in 2010. (It feels a LOT bigger during the 4th of July, FYI)
