Flash Flood Watch for Butte – Torrential Rain Possible Until 9pm
Extremely strong weather cells are developing this afternoon across Montana. The Butte/Blackfoot region could see torrential rainfall and is now under a Flash Flood Watch until 9pm.
According to the National Weather Service:
- FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM MDT THIS EVENING... ... FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR WEDNESDAY IS CANCELLED...
- THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MISSOULA HAS ISSUED A
- FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR A PORTION OF SOUTHWEST MONTANA.
- UNTIL 9 PM MDT THIS EVENING
- AREAS OF CONCERN INCLUDE... BUTTE... EDS GULCH IN DRUMMOND... PHILIPSBURG... WEST VALLEY NEAR ANACONDA
- STRONG THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING TORRENTIAL LOCAL RAINFALL ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP THIS AFTERNOON... BRINGING A RISK OF FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS PARTICULARLY A CONCERN FOR STEEP ROCKY TERRAIN AND URBAN AREAS SUCH AS BUTTE.
