Florence Welch In New ‘Star Wars’ Trilogy? Source Says Singer Will Play a ‘Major Part’
We all know that Florence Welch can sing — but can she act as well? According to a recent story in the Sun, Florence + the Machine's dynamic frontwoman is being considered for a “major part” in the upcoming ‘Star Wars’ trilogy.
"She has done some acting but it was her singing on stage that initially caught the eye," a source said. "Almost every actress in Hollywood wants a role in the new movies but we are keen to cast people who are unexpected. Florence is being considered for a major part that would turn her into an A-list actress overnight."
“We think Florence has the exact style we are looking for,” a ‘Star Wars’ insider reported.
Directed by J.J. Abrams and produced by George Lucas’ Lucasfilm, ‘Star Wars Episode VII’ is slated for a summer 2015 release. A number of original cast members, including Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher, are all expected to appear in the new trilogy. Click here for more info on the upcoming series.
