Woofstock, the biggest pet lover's festival in the valley, is happening on Saturday, September 8 from 12 - 5pm at Heart of the Valley Animal Shelter. Details here:

Woofstock is free and open to all! Contests and games will return this year, with some of the valley's finest canines competing for titles, including fastest dog, frisbee catching, dock diving and more. Prizes will be awarded to winners in all contests. There will also be food and drinks, games and educational demonstrations.

Everyone is welcome to bring their on-leash pets, and definitely bring the kids! There will be pony rides, a kids' corral with inflatables, hoop walk and more. Inside, you can take a look at Heart of the Valley's adoptable pets.

Heart of the Valley will feature some new attractions this year, such as a dunk tank, an assistance booth where you can pose your own dog questions to their in-house trainer, and Meowstock (featuring educational cat lectures, toys, music and more).

Volunteers are still needed to make the event as successful as possible, call 388-9399 if you can help or check out their website, www.heartofthevalleyshelter.org.
