UPDATE: Chick-fil-A plans for a second location in Bozeman
I've heard a lot of chatter over the last couple of months over "when is Chick-fil-A going to build a second location here in Bozeman?"
It's a fair question, I mean we do have the location on the Montana State University campus, but for those of us who aren't enrolled at the school, it makes it a bit difficult to enjoy the popular franchise. There's finding a parking spot, the hours are limited, it's just not ideal.
So, when the rumor started that there would be a second location right around 19th and I-90, well people got excited.

This is what we know according to our friends over at Bozeman Real Estate Group. The area that is proposed for the new Chick-fil-A location is zoned for a fast food restaurant and according to the proposed application, this is what is planned.
- Construction of a new fast food restaurant with a drive-thru window
- Indoor and outdoor seating
- 5300 to 6300 of building space
- Onsite parking, utilities, landscaping, and lighting
For those who are curious about the area, it is located next to Kendall Ford and is where the old Rest Stop was before it was torn down. According to the plans, phase 1 includes the restaurant, while phase 2 will include a new hotel.
When will construction start on the new Chick-fil-A in Bozeman?
That seems to be the million dollar question. I can tell you as someone that lives close to the area, there has been some work down, but it is mostly the moving of dirt. Why? well because as of the end of 2025, we are still waiting on final approval.
There are lots of construction projects happening around Bozeman, so it seems that we're in a bit of a waiting game. However, once approval happens and construction begins, we will keep you updated.
