I was talking to a friend the other day and we were thinking about what the least amount of money you could spend and live in Bozeman. We were originally talking about how expensive rent was and how it's so annoying. To be fair, I pay pretty low/average rent considering the going rate for the city of Bozeman.

We came up with a list of 4 ways to live in Bozeman, MT on only $1000 per month.

Gym Membership

Ok hear me out, we have gyms around town that are less than $50 dollars a month, with one particular gym opening up soon that has memberships as low as $20 dollars a month. With most of these gyms you are going to get electricity for charging your phone or tablet while you have a hot shower all while staying healthy.

Work at a Restaurant

When it comes to getting hot meals, typically, if you work at a restaurant, you can get one meal per shift or at least a discount on meals. Let's say you spend $15 dollars a day for 30 days. That would be around $450 per month. Or work a double and you will have a couple meals per day.  And to be honest, you can get groceries for much cheaper, but then you would need access to a stove and fridge.

Use the laundry mat

A couple rolls of quarters can go a long way. If you wash a couple small loads of laundry a week you will most likely spend less than $40 dollars a month. Plus you should have access to free Wi-Fi.

Camper

Now before you lose your cool and start complaining about this one, hear me out. People have some really nice campers that they use every year for camping, glamping, and everything in between, and there are places to park it that are not so "chaotic", shall we say.

I actually know someone who lives in Bozeman and works in Big Sky and makes 6 figures a year. Yes he still pays taxes every year, is actually from Montanan (born and raised), but wants to retire early, so this is what he chose to do. Let's put camping at $300 a month, that should cover gas and or propane.

You may think this is all ridiculous, but let's be honest, it would work.
