Why check out Butte?

Off the top of my head, the town of Butte. Oh sure, Butte might have a bit of a rough and tough reputation, but it also has one of the most interesting histories of any town in the United States. There's tours of Uptown, ghost tours, landmarks, you can go underground, or you can check out the oldest operating Chinese restaurant in the country.

Butte is known for it's St. Patrick's Day Parade, but during the summer, the town hosts one of the largest free outdoor music festivals in the country. Of course, we are talking about the Montana Folk Festival which takes place during the 2nd full weekend of July.

Summer is also a time for the Butte Farmers Market which is certainly worth checking out throughout the summer months.
