I don't know if your family is anything like mine, but it seems when it's time to go out to dinner here in Bozeman, it's always a bit of a struggle.

It usually starts with either my wife or I asking "Where do you want to go?" and then one of us says "I don't care, where do you want to go?". This goes on for a while as we go back and forth with different possibilities before we either agree on a location or give up and give in to what the other person wants.

Suppose this is a frequent conversation in your house. In that case, you might be interested to know that a couple of popular restaurant chains could be combined to create one location serving both menus across the United States, and it just so happens we have both restaurants here in Bozeman.

Which two popular chain restaurants are considering combining into one?

According to CBS News, Applebee's and IHOP (owned by the same parent company) are looking to potentially merge into one physical location in towns and cities across the United States.

The CEO of Dime Brands says that they've opened a few of the combo locations in other countries and people seem to enjoy the concept. The two restaurants would share one kitchen and have two different dining areas. However, it seems that both menus would be available to customers.

I don't hate the idea. I mean, we've seen other restaurant chains do the same thing, even here in Bozeman such as KFC and A & W. Options are a good thing and if someone wanted pancakes and the other person is craving riblets, well, this would be a marriage made in culinary heaven. The other selling point would be that in a place like Bozeman, where real estate is a premium, combining locations could save a ton of money.

Currently, there are no plans for the Bozeman Applebee's and IHOP restaurants to become one, but it will certainly be something worth watching out for.
