Places like Virginia City, or Bannack State Park are not only popular tourist destinations but a lesson in the history of the way things were several decades ago here in Montana. Not to mention several other small towns have that old-school feel like Livingston, Ennis, Phillipsburg, and many others.

However, one Montana town just recently made an interesting list and it's from a national publication.

The folks over at A Lot Finance decided to take a peek across the nation and highlight towns that were stuck in the past. One popular town made the list, and it might just surprise you. Before we reveal the town that they described as "stuck in the 1960s," let's look at some of the famous people buried here in Montana.

Which popular Montana town is stuck in the 1960's? Butte? Helena? Kalispell?

Actually, the town A Lot Finace said is stuck in the 1960's is the town of Missoula. We learned recently that Missoula was named the most "hippie" town in the state, so it maybe shouldn't come as a big shock that it also made the list as a town stuck in time.

So what were the criteria that landed Missoula on the list? According to the site:

"Missoula definitely has a different vibe than the rest of the state, mostly because it attracts anyone and everyone that's creative."

Having lived in Missoula for a few years, I will admit they certainly dance to the beat of their own drum, but I don't know if I would consider them "stuck in time". While it's true there are more than a few places to hang out that have the "hippie" and "free love" feel, Missoula has seen tremendous growth over the last couple of decades and continues to attract people from all walks of life.
