What is Real ID?
According to DHS.gov, the Real ID ACT established minimum security standards for issuing licenses, production, and prohibits certain federal agencies from accepting (for certain purposes) driver's licenses and ID cards from states that do not meet the Act's minimum standards.
Do I need a Real ID?
To figure out whether you need to upgrade your ID to a Real ID, or not, DHS.gov has a handy tool for you to use. Click the button below to give it a go.
And, remember, other forms of identification work instead of a REAL ID, such as your passport or passport card. Tap the button below to view all TSA-Approved Identification.
