Terrific Montana Brewery Announced They Will Close Down
It's sad to see a local business close down, but this spot was an underrated place in Bozeman.
2023 has been a wild year for Bozeman businesses. We have seen several new and exciting openings but at the expense of small local businesses shutting down. Several iconic Bozeman shops have closed or moved to new and cheaper locations to survive.
It's December, and we thought we wouldn't hear about any more closures until the new year, but we were sadly wrong.
Shred Monk Brewing announced via Instagram that they will shut down operations by Sunday, December 17th. Here's the announcement.

We recently published a post about how Shred Monk was for sale or looking for investors, but it's too late for that.
Shred Monk opened a year and a half ago as a coffeehouse & brewery combo, which was a genius idea for the Bozeman area, but it didn't catch on with locals. If there is one thing you need to help support your business, it's locals.
It's a bummer that more folks didn't check out Shred Monk. The beer was tasty, and the food was incredible. The smash burger was one of the best in Bozeman, and the staff was always kind and friendly.
This will now be the third failed brewery that has occupied that location on Main Street in Downtown Bozeman. The other two breweries that once occupied that space were White Dog Brewing and Union Hall Brewery, but neither of them could find consistent success.
Bozeman is losing an underrated place to have quality beer and fantastic food in one location. You will be missed Shred Monk Brewing, and if you have time this week, check them out before they close.
