Montana State's New Quarterback: What You Need to Know
Bobcat fans are eager to see how Lamson's skill set, whether it’s a strong arm, quick decision-making, or the ability to extend plays with his legs, will fit with the team’s offense during the 2025-26 season.

Justin Lamson was born in El Dorado Hills, California, and began his collegiate career at Syracuse in 2021. In 2023, he transferred to Stanford, where he showcased his dual-threat ability and set a single-season school record for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback in 2024.
At 6-foot-2 and 210 pounds, Justin Lamson fits the mold of a prototypical quarterback, offering a different build and style compared to Tommy Mellott.
After briefly committing to Bowling Green earlier this year, Lamson reopened his recruitment when the program saw a coaching change. That decision ultimately led him to Montana State, where he’ll step into a program known for its physical brand of football and consistent push for championships.
For the Bobcats, his mix of experience at the Power Five level and proven ability to both pass and run gives the offense a new dimension heading into the 2025 season.
Bobcats fans are excited to welcome a new era, and the first home game on September 6 against the SDSU Jackrabbits is a complete sellout. We can't wait to give Justin Lamson a warm welcome.
