Montana has become a popular filming destination for movies and TV shows, and celebrity sightings are fairly common in the state. The fact is, production costs are much lower in Montana compared to many other places in the country.

In the past few years, everything from wildly popular shows like Yellowstone to cheesy rom-coms have been filmed in Montana. Due to its low population, the state is also a desired location for western films. There are many places in the state that haven't changed in over 100 years. It's literally the old west out here.

Now, a new movie filmed in Montana has critics scratching their heads. Essentially, it's a movie about a Montana cattle rancher who's angry about a Hollywood producer that wants to film part of a movie on his land. Apparently, he's at risk of losing his land. Personally, I haven't watched the movie, but read online that there will be screening across Montana this month.

BIG SKY BLUNDER: NEW MONTANA MOVIE MISSES THE MARK

The movie is called Somewhere in Montana. It was filmed in the Flathead Valley, and is expected to be released in theaters nationwide later this year.

I may not have watched the movie, but after watching the trailer, I'm not sure that I'd want to. Usually, the trailer contains the most compelling and interesting parts of a film, and I was honestly left wanting more. There's already a negative sentiment towards out-of-staters in Montana, and it's not a good look. Montanans are known for being kind and generous. There are plenty of old curmudgeons in Montana, but that doesn't mean that a movie needs to made about them. Anyways, that's my two cents.
