5 Places in Montana That Californians Should Never Visit
Over the past few years, Montana has become a popular destination for people from California and other states. However, most of the time, the attention is on Californians. We're not sure why, but that seems to be the way it is. Montana may be full of great places to visit and sightsee, but there are a few places that you want to avoid.
Growing up in Idaho, I noticed that locals had the same sentiment towards Californians, and I remember a family friend that had a bumper sticker on his pickup. It read "Don't Californicate Idaho." Whenever I think about it, I still get a good laugh. When I moved to Montana, the negative attitude towards Californians didn't come as a surprise. It was something that I'd experienced my entire life.
One of the main concerns that Montana residents have is that people from California are going to try to turn Montana into something unrecognizable. Longtime residents don't want their beloved state to change. In Montana specifically, the attitude towards Californians or out-of-staters in general is a bit confusing. Locals claim to be against out-of-staters, yet they continue to vote for them to hold public office and make the most critical decisions that affect people that live in the state. It's a real head-scratcher.
