With the Fourth of July just days away, leading personal finance website WalletHub has released its list of 2015's Most & Least Patriotic States. Montana ranked 12th overall. Here's why.
To identify the country’s Most & Least Patriotic States, WalletHub compared the 50 states across eight key metrics, including measures such as military engagement, voting habits and civic education. Here are some key Montana findings:
Patriotism in Montana (1=Most; 25=Avg.):
- 29th – Percent of Residents Who Enlisted in the Military in 2013
- 23rd – Number of Active-Duty Military Personnel per 100,000 Residents
- 6th – Number of Peace Corps Volunteers per 100,000 Residents
- 16th – % of Residents Who Voted in the Most Recent Presidential Election
- 9th – Volunteer Rate
- 2nd – Number of Veterans per 100,000 Residents
- 22nd – Civics Education Requirement
